Ability Gives to Camp Ability

August 2007

Rome, ME - Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. was a bronze level supporter of the Camp Ability Foundation, an organization that sponsors camps specifically for children with limb loss. The Camp Ability Foundation was founded four years ago by occupational therapist Mary Leighton. Three-one week camps are offered throughout the summer in Big Bear Lake, California, Rome, Maine and Lake Coeur de'Alene, Idaho.

"Since the first camp in 2004," Mary states, "Interest in Camp Ability has greatly increased. We have gone from a total of 5 families attending to over to 20 families attending each camp."

Jeffrey M. Brandt, CPO & CEO of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. recently visited Rome, Maine to meet with the Camp Ability campers and staff. "Within minutes of arriving at the camp, I knew that Ability P&O was supporting a great mission. I am enthusiastic we can help support a camp in the mid-Atlantic region next summer."
