Ability To Present At Diabetes Resource Group

February 2008

Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. is pleased to announce its participation in WellSpan Health's Diabetes Resource Group. As part of the Wellspan Health Support Groups desiged to support and educate the community, the Diabetes Resource Group meets the second Monday of each month during February, April, June, October and December from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Gettysburg Hospital Community Rooms.

Kirk L. Ferris, CPO (Certified Prosthetist Orthotist) and managing practitioner of Ability's Gettysburg patient care center, will be providing prosthetic and orthotic education and awareness as it relates to the effects of diabetes. "Unfortunately, even with effective management of their disease," says Ferris, "Many diabetics will need our services. This presentation is a great opportunity to raise awareness by answering clinical, social and insurance questions."

Ability's staff has and continues to focus on providing seamless care to patients and referral sources in all of the communities it serves. In addition to providing direct clinical care to hospital inpatients, the company also provides educational presentations to hospital therapy, nursing, medical and surgical staff meetings throughout the year.
