Exton, Pa, September 2013- Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, in partnership with Ultraflex, will host a multi-disciplinary clinic- Emerging Orthotic Management Concepts in Neuro-Rehabilitation, on October 11, 2013. The event will be held from 12:00 to 4:30pm at the Pinnacle Health Cumberland Campus, 2025 Technology Parkway, Conference Room G08, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
This course demonstrates how the upper and lower extremity orthotic process is instrumental in determining the appropriate brace design. This process includes evaluation of R1 and R2, observation of gait and standing alignment, evaluation of isolated and bimanual upper extremity movements, consideration of treatment goals, incorporation in patient domains, and compliance. In addition to evaluation, this course will review emerging orthotic concepts and will demonstrate these concepts through a live patient lab.
“These types of clinical events are great. They bring together the rehab team with the objective of improving evaluation skills, refining brace selection and tuning braces to match physiological patient presentation, explains Eric Shoemaker, CPO and managing practitioner of the Mechanicsburg office and host practitioner of the event. All therapists in the central and southcentral PA region are welcome to attend. Please click here for more information or visit www.AbilityPO.com
