To All:
I would like to take this opportunity to share some wonderful news with you.
On Friday, December 9th 8/7c on ABC-TV, one of Ability’s patients, Wyzhir Johnson, is going to star on the ABC Show, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
Wyzhir is a terrific young man who lost his left hand while working on a home improvement project. Though this loss posed many challenges for the 16 year old Wyzhir, he adjusted in part by focusing on ways to help others, particularly those with missing limbs. Because Wyzhir understands how important it is for amputees to have access to prosthetic devices, he created Wyzhir’s Dream Fund, a charity that provides funding for artificial limbs to people who need them.
When the producers of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” learned of Wyzhir’s story, they decided to build a home that is both beautiful and more functional for him and his family. Additionally, featuring Wyzhir and his new hand raises awareness of the availability and benefits of high-technology prosthetic and orthotic devices, as well as the importance of tailoring artificial limbs to meet patients’ needs regarding both fit and function.
We at Ability are proud to have played a role in Wyzhir’s recovery. We congratulate him on his upcoming television appearance and on the continued success of his charity.
For more information on this story or to make a donation to Wyzhir’s Dream Fund, please visit our website www.AbilityPO.com for details. The Dream Fund is administered by the John Quinton Foundation.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey M. Brandt, COO, CPO

Wyzhir’s Story is inspiring and wonderful. He thought of others before himself and created a Dream Fund for people who needed artificial limbs. We are pleased that “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”picked Wyzhir and his family to be the recipients of a new home. We are glad that Ability Prosthetics can educate others about prothetics and orthotics and have an understanding of their importance.

This young man, with your help, is such an inspiration. He needs everyone’s support to fulfill his dreams. To see a young 16 y.o. man who thinks about others and is always trying and willing to help others just tugs at my heart so much. I cried with happiness for him because he is not willing to give up on himself or his dreams. He will be an excellent role model for other young people .
We watched your story on Extreme Makeover and we were so inspired by your courage, compassion, endurance and love for others. We love you and wish you the best life has to offer. Happy Holidays from our family to yours. My son Codi has Asbergers Syndrome and we face challenges everyday but we never use the words handicap or disabled because, he is as normal as anyone else and he will strive for greatness and success in life. Stay the person you are and Always Dream Big, Anything is possible. Stacey and Codi Smith
Wow! He really is a true inspiration. I mean he is only one year older than I am and to see how mature he is, is really inspiring. I wish to him & his family the best of luck!
Never give up on your dreams! <3
Just viewed the Extreme Makeover show and wanted to tell Wyzhir he is such an inspiration. I feel like I know him just from watching the show, I have this good feeling all over. Wyzhir please never change. God Bless you.
Wyzhir is an inspiration and an incredible young man, I am just blow away by his amazing positive outlook and selfless acts.
This is a must see/read story for anyone who has ever faced a challenge in their life, which means everyone should. This young man epitomizes what is good in the world and is one everyone in the world can learn from. His story renews faith in people and clearly demonstrates what is truly important in life. I could only hope I would be honored enough to meet this brave, giving and positive young man someday to simply look hin in the eye and say “thank you” for making the world a better place.
So impressed with your story
-Enjoy your new home
- just keep believing
I recently learned of Whzhir’s story after watching the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that aired on 12/9/11. Wyzhir is a truly insperational human being. The very definition of the word selfless. And wise beyond his years. I don’t have the means at this time, but definately plan on donating to the great cause that is Wyzhir’s Dream. To be able to help those in need is a beautiful gift. My father wears a prosthetic leg after losing his below the knee in a motorcylce accident in his 20′s. Wyzhir offers a positive outlook to all those who require dealing with the daily life of a prosthetic or othodic wearer. You rock Wyzhir!!
Hi,
Please make it easier to donate to Wyzhir’s dream. I bet a lot of people would like to give money but it is just too hard to find the link. Wyzhir is amazing.
