Jeffrey M. Brandt, CPO Prosthetist-Orthotist

Jeffrey M. Brandt, CPO and founder of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. is an American Board for Certification (ABC) Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist who first became interested in the field while volunteering at HealthSouth Nittany Valley Rehabilitation during his senior year at Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduating with a B.S. in Psychology in 1995, Jeff enrolled and completed a one-year Prosthetics Technician program at Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Washington to further his knowledge of the field. Jeff then spent the next three years as a registered prosthetic and orthotic technician, fabricating artificial limbs and braces for two privately owned facilities in Fairfax, Virginia and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In 1999, Jeff graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine's Orthotic & Prosthetic programs, which are housed within the highly regarded Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Jeff subsequently completed his orthotic residency at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where he specialized in cerebral palsy and cerebral vascular accident patients. In addition, Jeff also participated in a weekly pediatric scoliosis clinic at the Children's Hospital in Chicago. While in Chicago, Jeff was awarded the 2000 Gunther Gehl Scholarship by the Midwest Chapter of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP).

Jeff then completed a prosthetics residency in Wilmington, DE, under the former director of the Orthotics & Prosthetics Department at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, David Showers, CPO where he serviced primarily adult, below- and above-knee amputees and participated in pediatric prosthetic clinics at the A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital.
In 2002, Jeff became certified in providing the "C-leg", a microprocessor controlled knee-shin system for above-knee amputees. In 2003 & 2005, Jeff was certified in the VASS Harmony system, a vacuum assisted suction socket specifically designed to reduce volume fluctuation in amputees as well as the Adaptive and Rheo knee systems. More recently he became certified in and has fit the PROPRIO foot by Ossur, the world's first bionic foot & ankle system.
Jeff is currently a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP), American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and the Association of Children's Prosthetic-Orthotic Clinics (ACPOC). Recently, he became involved in the Political Action Committee (PAC), which serves to address key legislative issues on Capitol Hill.
As owner/practitioner of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. and a resident of Chester County, it is Jeff's goal to provide the highest level of care, service and education to the patients, referral sources and third party payers across Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.
