Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. has formed a product development company – Kinetic Revolutions, Inc. The new company will focus on the development of Orthotic and Prosthetic specific components. The company’s initial endeavor will involve integrating the energy harvested from human movement into prosthetic and orthotic devices.

“The technology is there. We need to start implementing energy harvesters to power the devices our amputees and brace wearers utilize,” explains Jeffrey M. Brandt, CEO & Founder of Kinetic Revolutions, Inc., “The maturity of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics over the past 6 years into an advanced–device patient care company has given our practitioners and engineers tremendous insight into the types of components that will interface with the products of tomorrow.”

The newly formed company will be headquartered in Frederick, Maryland. Brandt adds, “The Frederick region offers many opportunities to incubate such a company.” The company is actively pursuing strategic partnerships.
