August 2014, Exton, Pa (corporate)- Ability Prosthetics & OrthoUpper Extremitytics is pleased to announce the implementation of its outcomes protocol for Upper Extremity Prosthetics.  All 10 patient care centers have begun utilizing the DASH as the primary outcome measure.  Additional validated measures are used for evaluation, functional and ultimately, performance, for all upper extremity amputees.

With the release of the Upper Extremity Prosthetics protocol, it completes the company’s 3-year plan to implement outcome measures as part of their treatment plans for all patients.  In 2012, the company streamlined the evaluations of its lower extremity prosthetic patients with the release of the Lower Extremity Prosthetics protocol.  Then, in 2013, Ability released its Lower Extremity Orthotics protocol.  Data collected from these advancements of care standards has already yielded original research which was recently published in the Journal of Prosthetics & Orthotics.

All 10 Ability offices offer continuing education programs for therapists, physicians and payers relating to clinical outcomes for prosthetic and orthotic patients.  For more information please visit,
