Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. will conclude the first quarter of 2010 having created 3 jobs between its York and Exton Pennsylvania offices. Since its founding in 2004, Ability’s nationally-renowned care model has proven efficient and effective for over 8,000 patients. Ability’s staff evaluates, designs and fits patients with custom, as well as off-the shelf orthotic devices and prosthetics. Ability utilizes OPIE practice-management software and out-sources 100% of its fabrication, two efficiencies establishing Ability as a market leader for many state-of- the-art orthotic and prosthetic devices.
Ability has hired Sarah Wooden, CPO as managing practitioner of its newly opened York, Pa patient care center. Sarah, a graduate of Newington’s O & P programs, brings more than ten years of clinical expertise to Ability. Jeffrey Brandt, CPO & CEO of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc., explains, “Sarah understands and possesses the skills necessary to manage an orthotic and prosthetic office in a rapidly evolving healthcare market.”
Ability has also invested in the future by hiring Thomas Martin, BOCO, who will be fulfilling office administration duties for the newly opened York, Pa facility while pursuing his NCOPE accredited prosthetics education through Northwestern University. “Tom has a great foundation upon which to build a very successful career in O & P. Upon completion of his schooling, he’ll be returning to Ability for a residency and then opening and managing his own Ability patient care center.”
Lastly, Ability is pleased to announce that Taffy Bowman, CPO will join the staff at Ability’s Exton, Pa patient care facility in April 2010. Taffy, a graduate of Northwestern University’s O & P programs, also brings greater than ten years of experience to Ability. “Taffy has worked for a large orthotics and prosthetics provider, as well as for a manufacturer. This offers a unique blending of skills that will be a welcome addition to the Ability team.”
