Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics is proud to announce its recent sponsorship of the 24th Annual Eastern Regional Amputee Golf Championship, which took place on July 23rd, 24th and 25th at the Downingtown Golf Club, in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Held each year by the Eastern Amputee Golf Association, an organization with over one thousand members spanning from Maine to Maryland, the tournament’s mission is to assist in the rehabilitation of amputees in both a physical and a psychological capacity through the game of golf.

Fifty-seven amputees from across the US and Canada, participated in the championship this year. As a result of the tournament’s fundraising success, the EAGA is able to provide yearly educational scholarships to members and their families. The EAGA currently sponsors fourteen different students.

“We are proud to sponsor this event. All the participating golfers are truly remarkable,” says Jeffrey M. Brandt, CEO of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. “It is a testament to their courage and commitment, and it dovetails nicely with our corporate commitment to the amputee community. The two gentlemen I played with had not picked up a club since their amputations over two years ago. It was a huge boost of confidence for them.”

Recently, Ability sponsored the Cancer Survivor Walk in York, Pa, which raised nearly $10,000 for the York Cancer Center. Ability also recently sponsored the 10th annual Face of America Ride for Wounded Warriors, a 110 mile bike ride from Washington DC to Gettysburg, PA.
