April 2012, Gettysburg, Pa– Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. is proud to announce its sponsorship of TEAM Sports in its 2010 Face of America bicycle ride.  The 12th anniversary, 110 mile, Face of America bicycle ride will begin on Saturday, April 28th in Washington, DC and will conclude with a dramatic arrival on Sunday, April 29th in Gettysburg, Pa. on the battlefield.

World T.E.A.M. Sports (The Exceptional Athlete Matters) creates inclusive sports TEAMS, hosting challenging athletic events combining disabled and able persons to promote inclusion and TEAMwork. To change the way the World views athletes of all abilities, World TEAM uses the powerful platform of sports to bring together participants with and without disabilities.  There are an increasing number of servicemen and women returning from the war with severe injuries.  This ride will honor them and thank these young men and women for their service. We will also be honoring active duty and retired military, who will be riding with us.

Jeffrey Brandt, COO, CPO & Founder, Clay Barrow, CIO & CO, Jeffrey Quelet, CPO & CMO and Jacob Townsend, CPO, all of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, a locally based patient care company, will be riding in the event with TEAM Custer’s Cavalry.  They will be joining longtime amputee patient, Louis Shuba, of Gettysburg.  “We are proud to sponsor this event for a second time except this time we are riding,” explains Jeff Brandt, of Ability, “These veteran’s volunteered for service and ended up giving more than most of us can imagine.  They have not, however, given up their desire to participate in challenging events as a part of their rehabilitation.”
