We are proud to be a sponsor of the Hagerstown Kodiaks, a sled hockey team comprised of skilled players of all ages and physical challenges. Sled hockey is a team sport which allows individuals with disabilities and injuries to play a competitive sport on ice. This is the first program of its kind in the immediate 4-state region. The Kodiaks play at he Hagerstown Ice & Sports Complex.

The sled hockey program received unrestricted grants equal $125,130 in 2016. That puts the foundation’s total at more than $1 million since the program’s inception 13 years ago.  These grant funds, accompanied by a very generous gift from an anonymous benefactor, provided the funds necessary to purchase ice sleds and equipment for all participants.

On Tuesday, May 2, the Hagerstown Ice & Sports Complex participated in the Washington County Gives annual fundraiser.  This day of giving helps local organizations achieve their goals. This year, the Hagerstown Kodiaks hosted a Sled-A-Thon, to help raise funds to support the team.
