Dominick Baronio, MPO
MPO, Prosthetist, Orthotist
Dominick Baronio, MPO is a resident prosthetist and orthotist in Ability’s Mechanicsburg, PA office.
Dominick graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. He shadowed various medical professionals before discovering the field of prosthetics and orthotics. He realized his dream to pursue a career in orthotics and prosthetics shadowing at Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa. While there, he was fortunate enough to observe new parents with their two young boys. The one boy came to Shriner’s to receive bilateral prosthetic legs. The parents were not optimistic that their son would be able to play with the other children. That quickly changed when the prosthetist put the prostheses on the boy. The boy took off running down the hallways and that was when the tears started to flow. It was in that moment he knew what he wanted to do with his life.
Dominick worked for Ability as a patient care coordinator and in the accounting department before attending school at Northwestern University for a Master’s Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. He felt strongly aligned with Ability’s patient focused care and is ecstatic to rejoin the team for his NCOPE residency after completing his Master’s degree.
