Ability Grants Joseph Mazur Housing Scholarship

Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. has selected the recipient of the Joseph Mazur housing scholarship. Nicole Hedgecock of Somerville, MA who will be an Orthotics student during the spring term at Northwestern University in Chicago, was recently notified of the award.

The scholarship will be officially awarded during a presentation in which Joseph Mazur's prosthetic limb from WWII will be donated for display at Chicago's International Musuem of Surgical Science exhibit: "Beyond Broken Bones: The Story of Orthopedics and Prosthetics."

"I am very excited to award this scholarship to Ms. Hedgecock," explains Jeffrey M. Brandt, CPO and President of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc., "We are pleased to support her in the pursuit of her dream to be an Orthotist and Prosthetist."

This scholarship is being awarded by Jeffrey M. Brandt, CPO, President of Ability P&O and graduate of both programs, in memory of his grandfather, Joseph Mazur, who lost his leg while serving in the Philippines during World War II.
