Leah Senator, MPO, CFo
MPO, CFo, Prosthetist Orthotist, Certified Orthotic Fitter
Leah Senator, MPO, CFo, is a resident prosthetist and orthotist at the Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics facility in York, PA.
Leah received her Bachelor’s in athletic training with a concentration in pre-physical therapy from Messiah College. She went on to work as an athletic trainer at the collegiate level for York College of Pennsylvania. She became interested in prosthetics and orthotics after a friend introduced her to the field. It quickly became apparent that the field of orthotics and prosthetics would challenge, engage, and grow Leah’s passion for anatomy, biomechanics, and her desire to serve people.
She began shadowing at Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2016. Later, she accepted a position as a certified orthotic fitter and patient care coordinator in the interim before pursuing her Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics at Northwestern University.
While attending Northwestern University, Leah volunteered with Adaptive Adventures, in Chicago, to help athletes with disabilities achieve their athletic goals. Additionally, she volunteered regularly with Range of Motion Project (ROMP) to collect and disassemble donated prosthetic components to be sent to developing countries. In early 2019, she had the opportunity to travel to a ROMP clinic in Zacapa, Guatemala to provide prosthetic care to those with limited access.
Leah is excited to be returning to Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics to pursue her residency and continue learning, collaboration and contributing to Ability and the profession.
