Neal Tullos, Certified Prosthetic Orthotic Assistant
Certified Prosthetic Orthotic Assistant
Neal Tullos, CPOA PTA, is a certified prosthetic orthotic assistant at our facility in Hagerstown, MD. Neal graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a strong interest in the field of physical therapy. He has held many roles in the outpatient therapy world dating back to 2005. Wanting to get more involved in patient care, he became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in 2013 after graduating from the Anne Arundel Community College program, continuing his work in outpatient orthopedics.
After a couple years, Neal decided to focus on clients in need of prosthetic and orthotic devices. He was interested in applying his therapeutic background to the prosthetic and orthotic field. He assisted in the evaluation of candidates for new devices through long-term care and adjustments. He traveled to hospitals, PT clinics and patients’ homes around Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Prince George’s Counties. He also attended multiple walking clinics hosted by University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute (formerly Kernan Hospital).
After moving his home, Neal returned to the physical therapy field, gaining experience in both outpatient orthopedics and home health settings. He joined Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics to revisit his interest in the field and learn to practice with a wider array of devices and diagnoses. He achieved his certification as an orthotic assistant at the start of 2020. He enjoys supporting his patients’ return to functional living as independently as possible. Neal is also a 3rd degree Black Belt in International Taekwondo Federation through the Amateur Athletic Union.
