The Highmark 5k Walk/one-mile Fun Walk is an annual event where the community is encouraged to walk for Uplifting Athletes as one of the supported organizations. Each donation to Uplifting Athletes goes directly to the organization to aid in their mission to align college football with the rare diseases. All costs are underwritten by Highmark, allowing 100% of donations to go directly to the participating organizations.
“As an alumnus of Penn State, I am proud to be able to give back to my community through my company to such a great cause,” says Rebecca Ferris, former Division I athlete and managing prosthetist & orthotist of the Gettysburg based Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics.
