November 2011, Gettysburg, Pa– Taffy Bowman, CPO with Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics’ patient care facility in Exton, Pa, took part in the Chester County Hospital’s 17th Annual Diabetes Self-Management Day. Over 200 patients, family and friends attended the “Food For Thought” themed event with activities, screenings and displays in an effort to help patients with diabetes explore new ways to enjoy a healthier lifestyle.
“As prosthetists and orthotists, we deal with many aspects of the end stages of diabetes,” explains Taffy Bowman, CPO and managing practitioner of Ability’s Exton, Pa patient care facility, “The half day event provides education on nutritional foods, exercise tips and glucose optimization techniques”.
