Ability Hires Two Practitioners & Announces Certification of Another
Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. will conclude the first quarter of 2011 having created 2 jobs between its Frederick, Maryland and Exton Pennsylvania offices. Since its founding in 2004, Ability’s nationally-renowned care model has proven efficient and effective for over 10,000 patients. Ability’s practitioners evaluate, design and fit patients with custom, as well as off-the shelf orthotic devices and prosthetics. Ability utilizes OPIE practice-management software and out-sources 100% of its fabrication, two efficiencies establishing Ability as a market leader for many state-of- the-art orthotic and prosthetic devices.
Ability has hired Patrick Logan, CPO as one of its managing practitioners of the Exton, Pa patient care office. Pat has joined Taffy Bowman, CPO to meet increased demand in the Philadelphia market. A graduate of Florida International University, Pat brings twenty years of clinical expertise to Ability. Prior to joining Ability, Pat was employed as the Clinical Coordinator for the National Orthotics & Prosthetics Company (NOPCO) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Before NOPCO, Pat was a branch manager for Hanger in Havertown, as well as the director of the Prosthetics & Orthotics division at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a clinical instructor on the university’s faculty. Jeffrey Brandt, CPO & COO of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc., explains, “Patrick understands and possesses the skills necessary to provide exceptional patient outcomes in an Ability office.”
Ability has invested in the future by hiring Erin Meyers, Board Eligible Prosthetist, Resident Orthotist, who will be fulfilling the requirements of her NCOPE residency in Ability’s Frederick, Maryland patient care office with John Jacobs, CPO. Erin is a graduate of California State University. “Erin has a great foundation upon which to build a very successful career in O & P. She already has extensive patient care as well as outsourcing knowledge,” says Clint McKinley, CEO of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc.
Ability is pleased to announce that Spencer Wolinsky, COA, recently received his Certified Orthotics Assistant designation from the American Board for Certification (ABC). Spencer began his career as a prosthetic and orthotic technician at the former Charlotte Orthotic & Prosthetic Center in Charlotte, North Carolina- now owned by Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. Spencer is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with a goal of becoming a prosthetist-orthotist. “Spencer has a diverse knowledge of O&P through his years of technical experience. This is evident in his transition to the patient room as an assistant,” explains Amy Street, CPO and managing practitioner of Ability’s Charlotte patient care office.
